The National Geographic Institute has reported a minor earthquake in the Torrevieja area on Monday, registering 1.4 on the Richter Scale.
The rumble occurred at 15:39 with its epicentre at La Mata, although being such a small scale tremor it was hardly noticed, although a few people have reported hearing a rumble noise and a slight movement of the earth under their feet.
No damage to property or persons has been reported so far in an area prone to seismic activity.
Meanwhile, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Vigo on the Northwest coast of the country, as well as a 2.4 magnitude quake in the centre of the peninsular near Estremera, but no damage was reported there either.
