The emergency coordination centre reports that they received calls for assistance to an incident on calle Frigiliana at around 7 in the evening on Wednesday.
There were confused reports from the scene that the officer may have been stabbed, after which gun shots were heard, with witnesses reporting hearing five shots. The officer was accompanied by a colleague at the time of the incident.
A woman is also reported to have been injured, a suspected victim of shrapnel after the incident. Numerous other patrols attended the scene to assist.
