Listen to this articleA minor earthquake was felt first thing in the morning in Torrevieja and on the Orihuela Costa. The National Geographic Institute (ING) said that the quake occurred at 6.04 am with a magnitude of 1.3 with its epicenter south of the coastal area of La Veleta.
The ING announced the tremor after receiving several calls of confirmation from the area. Normally earthquakes below magnitude 1.5 are not perceived by the population.
