UNEMPLOYED FARM LABOURERS TAKEN ON IN PILAR
Pilar de la Horadada have employed44 farm laborers for a 3 month period during the summer months.
All are currently out of work and will be used by the town council to carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties around the town.
In total 38 laborers, and six foremen have been engaged. They will be split into a number of working groups and will perform tasks such as cleaning gutters, clearing roads or maintenance of the green areas in and around the town.
The engagement of the labourers has been possible thanks to a grant of 170,000 euros received from the State Employment Promotion (Sepe), a slight increase in funding which allows an for six more staff than in 2013.
These are all local residents who were welcomed at a ceremony attended by the mayor, Fidel Ros, the councilor for Employment, Asunción Sánchez and the councilor for Works and Services, Lancharro Francisco.
Following the presentation they all took part in a short health and safety at work course prior to receiving their detailed instructions.
