CASTING ON THE ORIHUELA COSTA

Victor Mondejar (Producer / screen writer), Pablo Riquelme and Stephen R.Scott (Directors)

Spanish filmmakers Victor Mondejar (Producer / screen writer), Pablo Riquelme and Stephen R.Scott (Directors) were on the Orihuela Costa on Friday, casting for their next film.

They were looking to recruit an “English speaking” female, in her 60´s to play the role of the mother of one of the main characters in the film due to be shot in August.

As Spanish residents of Orihuela and Elche, Pablo explained that they wanted to shoot this film in English, “in order to get the maximum distribution possible”.

Meanwhile, Stephen, who met Pablo when the pair studied at Alicante´s Ciudad de la Luz studios, explained that they wanted to cast from the local community as they see the value that the British residents bring to the area, and having found the locations for the shoot nearby, Orihuela Costa seemed “the best place” to start the process for this “main role”.

Of the many people who turned up, they were so impressed by “two or three” of the ladies, they look set to get a call back for next week, with one of them perhaps starting on the path to being the next big thing on the silver screen.
