The Physical attractiveness of some politicians is not lost on the public, particularly when it comes to voting, however controversial that might be, so here are the 12 politicians, some frontline and some local, 5 men and 7 women, thought to be the most attractive.

MARIA DOLORES COSPEDAL. One of the most prominent members of the popular Party, SHE IS the President of Castile-La Mancha and Secretary-General of the People’s Party. The former minister of defense, 2008-11, during the Zapatero government She is a Bachelor of Law and she carried out her postgraduate studies at Osgoode Hall Law School (Toronto), the University of Kingston and Laval University in Quebec City. She worked as a lecturer of Constitutional Law at the University of Girona. Married with one child the Catalan started out as a youngster in the world of politics and at 43 years of age is still ranked as one of the sexiest.

BORJA SEMPER. Is president of the Basque PP in Guipúzcoa and the Popular Party spokesman in the Basque Parliament. It is said that he demonstrates enormous charisma and personality and at just 38 years of age, with a modish beard and a great deal of style, he is another politician with a strong female fanbase.

ARANTZA QUIROGA. She was President of the Basque Parliament between 2009 and 2012, an office commonly known in the Anglophone world by the name of “Speaker of the Parliament” even though she is not fluent in the Basque language, and together, she and Borja Semper form the Basque duo of the prettiest faces in politics. A Natural blonde with green eyes Quiroga is 40 years. She first entered politics as a local councillor for Irún when she was just 21 years of age.

ALBERTO GARZÓN. Just 28 years of age Garzon is now a regular on television. His active participation in the Movement 15-M led to him becoming their spokesman in Congress. In January 2013 he was elected member of the Federal Executive Committee of the United Left, IU, taking responsibility for their Global Economic Policy Unit. Garzón studied Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Málaga.

VILLA SANTI. A historian and Catalan politician. Currently a member of the Catalan Parliament where he is the current Minister of Planning and Sustainability. A former teacher of modern history in the University of Girona. Particularly interested in issues related to historical memory and formerly the mayor in the town of Figueres. Said to convey a touch of elegance by his followers.

CAYETANA ALVAREZ. The XIII Marchioness of Casa Fuerte is a Spanish journalist and a Deputy in the Spanish Parliament in Madrid. Her articles regularly appear in newspapers such as the Times and the FT. She is currently Vice President of the Joint Commission for the European Union and member of the Justice and Constitutional Commissions of the Partido Popular. She is said to dress very simply and at 39 years of age is regarded as one of the prettiest members of her party.

MÓNICA LORENTE. A career politician, active within her local party since 1989, she joined up at the age of 18 as part of their “new generation” of conservative thinkers. Now, at the age of 43, the former mayor of Orihuela, she has become more infamous in recent years with corruption allegations overshadowing her defeat in the elections in 2011.

EDUARDO DOLÓN. At just 38 years of age, Eduardo Dolón is another career politician, born and raised in Torrevieja, the town he now leads, he was previously the culture councilor under the former mayor, Pedro Hernández Mateo. With a diploma in Business Studies from the University of Alicante, he joined the PP at the age of 19.

MIREIA MOLLÀ. If such a thing existed, Mireia would be a firm contender to take the Miss Political Beauty Queen crown away from Mónica Lorente. Born in Elche in 1982, she has shot to political fame as Alicante´s deputy for the Compromís group since 2007. As a former accountant at the University Miguel Hernández, politics is in her blood, as she is the daughter of Pasqual Mollà i Martínez , leader of the Valencian EUPV group.

CAROLINA GRACIA. A seemingly quiet and unassuming politician, not much is publicly known about the current spokesperson for the Orihuela government team, other than having roots firmly fixed in the municipality she serves. Active in culture, festivities and youth services, as the youngest active member of the Orihuela government she was instrumental in blocking the recent censure motion tabled by the PP, as she formed part of the “table of elders” who refused the motion to take place.
