Four people, including a child and a pregnant woman, were injured in an accident on the N-332 near Santa Pola on Monday evening. Firefighters, who had to come from Elche, had to rescue the child, who was trapped in the vehicle. The car had rolled over and was embedded into a wall opposite the hotel Rocas Blancas. The injured were rushed to the General Hospital of Elche.

Meanwhile, eight people, including two children, were killed in a crash between a truck and van on the A7 motorway at Albatera on Tuesday afternoon. The truck, heading in the Murcia direction, is believed to have crossed the central reservation and collided with a minibus, head on. The minibus washed shunted off the road where it burst into flames. Fire fighters found the burnt bodies of two of the victims in the front of the van, likely to have died instantly, later to find the rest in the back. The truck driver was taken to the Hospital de la Vega Baja in Orihuela with multiple injuries.
