CUTTING OF LA MATA GRAPE CROP

Last Wednesday morning, the mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolon, accompanied by the Valencian Minister of the Environment, Salome Pradas, the mayor of Guardamar, Carmen Verdú, Curator of the Natural Park of the Lagoons La Mata and Torrevieja, Concepción Torres, and representatives of the La Mata Farmers Association, visited to the Natural Park to raise awareness of the park and promote the La Mata vineyard

After visiting the Information Centre the party carried out a symbolic cutting of the 2014 crop, a variety of the white Merseguera grape. They subsequently held a wine tasting at the Natural Park’s picnic area, where they were able to taste several wines bottled under the combined name of the La Mata vineyards.

The Minister said how delighted she was after visiting the Park, highlighting its uniqueness and explaining how it differs from other similar parks particularly by farming vines.
