ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE COMES TO MOORES SPURS

The global sensation that is the Ice Bucket Challenge came to Moores Bar in Cabo Roig last week with no fewer than eight members of Spurs Supporters Spain getting dunked with freezing cold water and in the process raising money for their chosen charity.

Having completed her challenge (see picture) Shona Farnes donned her collecting hat and went round with a bucket – empty this time – and collected 120 euros for the Stacey Mowle Appeal.

Stacey is an 8 year old Spurs fan who – four years ago – was diagnosed with a very severe and aggressive form of cancer – Neuroblastoma.

There is no cure at the moment and the only viable treatment is in the USA but, at a cost of over half a million pounds sterling, this is currently impossible which is why the guys and girls at Moores Bar are putting all their efforts behind the appeal.

More events are planned – one of their members is considering entering the “Stay Sober for October” appeal but doesn´t think the local economy would survive a month of him not drinking – while in November a big Legends Evening is being staged at both Moores Bar and next door at Marinasol Restaurant.

Former Spurs stars Graham Roberts and Stephen Sedgley will be in attendance on Saturday 15th November for a gala dinner, with raffle and auction plus fun and laughter and it is hoped that a lot more money will be raised for such a good cause.
