FOOTBALL COACH CHARGED WITH RAPE

Despite the failure of the victim to appear, the Prosecution has asked for a sentence of eight years in prison for a Women’s Football Coach charged with raping a minor in Alicante.

Identified as Adonny AZ the coach is alleged to have assaulted his victim two years ago, after she had arrived for football training. The prosecution contends that the coach asked the young girl to accompany him into the park at Lo Morant where they stopped in a secluded area.

He then allegedly began fondling the girl, and declaring his feelings for her, until, he encouraged her to lie down on the grass.

Despite her attempts to escape, she was unable to do so as the coach grabbed her tightly by the wrists until he could penetrate her vaginally, breaking the hymen, and ejaculating inside. However the defense, represented by lawyers Vicente Orts Barrigón and Javier García Sánchez, sought his acquittal saying that the prosecution evidence submitted by the girl is based on contradictory statements.

Despite her ‘no show’ in court, the prosecution maintains that following the alleged sexual assault, the defendant asked the girl not to tell anyone. He then subsequently sent her a number of messages expressing his desire that they meet and repeat what happened in the park.

The victim was only 16 years old at the time of the alleged rape.

The prosecution also seeks compensation of 20,000 euros in moral damages as a result of the alleged assault during which, they claimed, she lost her virginity.

The defendant, now 25, denied the facts claiming that he had fallen out with the parents of the child which had probably led to the accusations.
