Fundraising continues apace for the film The Cucaracha Club, our very own community project here on the Costa Blanca. Some of the female cast volunteered to be ice bucketed in a wet t shirt challenge on the beach front at Playa Flamenca last weekend.
Cheered on by family, friends and members of the public the brave girls took a drenching for the sake of The Cucaracha Club ! Around 500€ was raised. Another brave soul, Baz from AliandBrians Sports Bar at Playa Flamenca offerd 200€ if he could get wet !
Well it was rude to refuse, so on Sunday evening the cast duly obliged. After an evening of excellent entertainment with the lovely Chloe Leigh, including other donations a total of 276€ was raised. Thanks Baz ! and for his efforts he will have a walk on part in the film !
All the actors and crew, including British star Tom Watt (Lofty from Eastenders ) and Hollywood star Al Matthews ( from Alien and 64 other Hollywood movies) are giving their time free of charge.
Funds are needed to complete the post production stages of the film. One of the aims of the film is to boost tourism in the area and so help struggling businesses and individuals in these difficult times. Please donate or support The Cucaracha Club in any way you can, maybe offer your establishment as a film set ? Visit the website at www.siesta.productions to find out more.
You can also join in by supporting one of our fundraising events such as the Ladies Only night on October 13th, tickets only 8€ ! or come and see Woody and The Peckers on December 23rd. and we have a very special night planned for New Years Eve, see the web page for details or follow us on Facebook at The Cucaracha Club or on Siesta Productions.
