Pilar de la Horadada welcomes two new collections at the Casa de Cultura

Pilar de la Horadada welcomes two new collections at the Casa de Cultura exhibition hall and corridors that will run until 31st October.

“The Color of Flowers” is the second collection by Olga Sánchez who has been painting and drawing locally for over a decade. The exhibition includes 29 works mostly floral which is “a major style change from the collection that the Torrevieja secondary school teacher exhibited last year.

“The Color of Flowers” brings together a large mix of techniques ranging from acrylic on canvas to charcoal, graphite and watercolor, through which the author produces a great visual feeling and richness of textures.

The second exhibition, “Postcards of Our History” includes edited images from 1900 through to the eighties

There are 126 postcards, of which 21 depict Pilar de la Horadada and the rest the local area including Los Alcazares, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Campoamor.

This traveling exhibition “Postcards of Our History” began its journey in May in San Pedro del Pinatar and after visiting Santiago de la Ribera (San Javier) and Los Alcazares finally arrived in Pilar de la Horadada, with 6 new images, one of San Pedro del Pinatar, 1909, another Campoamor 1905, a map of the coastline and 3 postcards showing Torre de la Horadada in the sixties.
