Last years launch took place in Benidorm

This year Torrevieja has been chosen to host the Launch of The Royal British Legion’s main fundraiser in Eastern Spain the annual Poppy Appeal.

The launch will take place along the seafront in the Port Area which will start with a parade from the Paseo Juan Aparicio at 11am. The parade will be led by the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums, followed by Standards of the Royal British Legion and other Service Associations.

Also marching will be a number of Chelsea Pensioners who have flown out especially for the occasion as well as members of the RBL, RNA, RAAFA and RMA

A contingent of Dutch Veterans and Spanish paratroopers are also expected to take part making this a truly international event.

Eduardo Dolon, the Mayor of Torrevieja will be joined by Paul Rodwell, British Consul in Alicante, and Rbl officials who will together declare the appeal open.

Everyone is invited to attend the event whether or not a member of The Royal British Legion. The Paseo Juan Aparicio is situated at the start of the Torrevieja Pier (aka Dique de Levante Breakwater).
