DENIA U3A ON A BREAK

On Wednesday 1st October, 54 members of U3A Denia boarded a coach for a seven day trip to Andalucia, The next day the group headed into Granada for the main attraction, the Al Hambra Palace and the Cathedral. Day two was off to Cordoba where the highlight was the Grand Mosque, a really spectacular building with lots of photo opportunities.

The following day we left the hotel for a browse of the city before heading to Seville for 3 days. Monday found the group back on the coach heading for Jerez. The main attraction here, and possibly the highlight of the trip for some, was a tour of the Williams and Humbert bodega with its 50,000 barrels of fermenting sherry. There was a demonstration of the prowess of the Andalucian horse which was beautiful and quite spell binding before a few sherry samples and a bit of retail therapy in the bodega shop. Finally the group headed to Cadiz, a lovely city on the coast, for more historical visits and a wander.

Tuesday found the group back on the coach heading back to Denia.
