FUEL PRICES FALL AGAIN

The price of petrol and diesel is continuing a trend of cheaper prices, with petrol now at its cheapest since July, 2012, and diesel at the lowest since the second half of 2011.

The average price of a litre of petrol fell by 4 cents last week, now working out at 1.352 euro per litre, 3.9% less than the same time last year, now celebrating the second week in a row that the price has been below 1.40 euro.

As for diesel, the average price was 1.274352 euro per litre last week, which is 6% cheaper than January of this year and 6.4% lower than the same time last year.

With the European averages provided by Brussels, filling a petrol vehicle with an average 55 litre tank now costs 74.3 euro, 2.2 euro less than a week ago, while in the case of a diesel vehicle, the cost is around 70 euro, 1.3 euro less.

Spain still offers some of the cheapest fuel in Europe, with the EU average being 1.518 euro per litre for petrol, and 1,326 euro in the case of diesel.
