Our Captain’s Charity this year has been Caritas, a charitable organisation dedicated to providing essentials to less fortunate families.
We raised 2,500 euros which we spent on supplies at Cash and Carry.
Our photo is of several of our members in Pilar having delivered our contribution just before Xmas which was also filmed by the local TV station. An example of supplies is 200lt Olive Oil, 100kg Flour, 1500 tins Tuna, 150 bars Chocolate, 50 tubs Nutella spread, 50 tubs chocolate drink, 300 bricks tomato frito, 1000lt milk, 500kg sugar, cans of chopped tomatoes and cartons of fruit juice.
As a society we found the charity such a rewarding yet sobering cause and our incoming Captain will be continuing our effort in 2015. Our thanks to everyone who assisted us in our endeavours.
