If you know somebody looking to learn English, then you need to tell them about a new and unique teaching system has arrived on the Costa Blanca.

Thanks to Debbie Coupe, the new professional and yet simple and child-friendly system will aid them on the path of learning to speak, read and write in English.

The Sounds-Write Programme is presented by Debbie Coupe, who started teaching after gaining a degree in Education at Christ Church University in Canterbury.

Having taught in both mainstream and special education, Debbie also became the head of the Primary department for 6 years and wrote and implemented a topic-based curriculum for the new National Curriculum in 2014.

The Sounds-Write system has both a psychological and rational behind its methods, which has a range of levels depending on the ability of the learner, “It is the only scheme I have come across that uses the alphabet as a reversible code in other words speaking, reading and writing must be learnt together”, Debbie explains.

“At its heart it teaches children to segment, blend and manipulate sounds, or phonemes”, Debbie continued, whilst explaining how “we have 44 sounds in our language and only 26 letters of the alphabet to make those sounds”.

Although Sounds-Write has a step by step prescribed programme element it also has computer software, games and its own set of accompanying books to support the child´s progress and success.

Now, having taken early retirement from teaching, Debbie and her husband have moved to the house in Spain they have had for 10 years, and although sad to leave grown up children and four lovely grandchildren, Debbie hopes to transfer her skills to support speaking, reading and writing within a safe and happy environment, whilst continuing to do something that she both loves and is good at here on the Costa Blanca.

For more information you can call Debbie on 965 319 227, or her mobile 638 283 910 and see her advert in The Leader newspaper.
