A 28 year old woman has been arrested after driving her car the wrong way on the A-15 motorway, subsequently crashing her vehicle into a Guardia Civil patrol car, and failing a breathalyser test.

At 20:18 on Wednesday night, a member of the public called the emergency services to report a vehicle driving in the wrong direction on the A-15 motorway between Medinaceli and Pamplona.

A Guardia Civil patrol was immediately dispatched and at 20:25 were in position to stop the vehicle, but that car, a blue Land Rover, collided with the patrol car.

The vehicle then became embedded in the crash barrier on the road, as the driver was unhurt in the crash, the officers conducted a breathalyser test on the female driver, identified as C.M.R.G. and a resident of the Gerona town of Tossa de Mar.

The driver gave appositive reading for alcohol, showing a result of 0.91 milligram s alcohol per litre of breath. The officers were not badly injured in the crash.
