Two Men Arrested for 2013 Hit and Run

Officers from the Guardia Civil have arrested two suspects in connection with a hit and run that took place in Benicássim, in 2013.

The investigation began after a moped rider was struck by a vehicle in April, 2013, resulting in hospitalization with serious injuries having lost consciousness from suffering a fractured skull, as well as numerous abrasions. The car involved in the incident fled the scene without stopping.

For the past two years, the Guardia Civil, in conjunction with the local police of Benicássim and the Judicial Police, continued to investigate the circumstances and sought the offending vehicle and occupants.

The investigation became increasingly difficult as time went on, largely due to a lack of records at the garages which were checked, but the officers continues and were eventually able to confirm the trail of repair to the vehicle, thus identifying two suspects.

This week, two years after the incident, two males aged 27 and 30 years of age were arrested in connection with the case and were brought before the courts to face charges.
