Nine Road Deaths This Weekend

A total of nine people lost their live on the roads of Spain this weekend, in the provisional figure between 15:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Sunday.

In the nine recorded crashes on the roads, two of the people who lost their lives were pedestrians, whereas a further four people have been injured, one of them seriously.

The worst day of the weekend was Saturday, when seven of the fatalities occurred.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, a cyclist was seriously injured after coming off a road in the Pontón de la Oliva area of the community of Madrid, falling down a mountainous embankment 20 metres to the ground below. An emergency medical crew managed to stabilise a head injury and broken elbow before the cyclist was taken to hospital.
