Officers from the Guardia Civil have arrested three people, two men and a woman, all aged between 22 and 28 and of Spanish nationality, in the town of Agost, on suspicion of their involvement in a number of vehicle thefts from around the Alicante local area.
The string of offences are believed to have taken place in towns including Alcoy, Alicante, Santa Pola, Orihuela, San Vicente del Raspeig and Elche, plus Murcia and Cartagena.
According to the information just released, the arrests occurred last week in Agost, in a finca which was being used by the group to break down vehicles into component parts.
Upon searching the premises, the officers found a warehouse in which the disassembled remains of at least six high end vehicles were recovered, many of the parts prepared and packaged for sale.
The detainees were made available to the courts in Novelda.
