INSTAGRAM WINNER RECEIVES DIGITAL TABLET

Victor Sarabia has won the Instagran Photography Contest that was held by Orihuela Council over the Easter period with one of the snapshots that he took during the procession of the Brotherhood of Silence (la procesión de la Hermandad del Silencio.)

Throughout Holy Week participants were invited to upload their photographs to the council’s Instagram site which resulted in over 450 submissions from in excess of 100 entrants.

The first 20 photos were selected for prizes and for special mention by a board of judges which included the Councillor for Tourism Rosa Martinez with the first prize of a digital tablet awarded to Victor Sarabia at a ceremony conducted in the Maria Moliner Library in Orihuela.

“The goal was to raise awareness through social networks of the Easter celebrations in the area from the perspective of those who live in Orihuela”, said the councilor.
