Football Violence Threat Thwarted

A team of police officers dedicated to irradiating violence in sport have successfully prevented an explosive and violent clash between two groups in the vicinity of a football stadium in Murcia.

A total of 30 people were identified as suspects in the case, with a number of arrests taking place. Two of those detained are wanted for questioning in connection with robbery with violence and intimidation.

The groups were armed with a variety of knives, pipes, sticks, batons and other potential weapons, as well as protective equipment such as crash helmets and protective clothing.
