Young Girl Killed in Moped Crash

A 15 year old girl was killed on Tuesday night when the moped she was riding left the road and ended up in a ravine in the Güímar area of Tenerife.

A second person, said to be under the age of 15, was injured in the crash.

The 112 emergency coordination centre received an alert at 21:51 that the moped had been involved in an incident and immediately dispatched two ambulances to the scene, one a paramedic unit, the other a basic life support ambulance, along with the fire service, Guardia Civil and local police.

Upon arrival at the scene the medics could only confirm the death of the 15 year old girl and proceeded to treat the other injured party who had suffered trauma to the knee and was transferred to the Hospital de La Candelaria.

The Guardia Civil have now taken over the investigation to ascertain the facts that led to this tragedy.
