QUESADA PAIR TAKE PRE NATIONALS 3 WOOD

The Pre Nationals 3 Wood Pairs Event was played at San Luis and Quesada Bows Clubs last week with 36 teams competing for this popular new trophy.

The first two days were played over a maximum of 90 minutes or 12 ends with the eight best placed teams progressing to the quarter finals on Day 3.

Slightly surprising that neither of last year’s National Pairs winners took the opportunity to use the competition as a National warm up but spectators at the two venues were nevertheless rewarded with a number of exciting games which saw Jason Prokopowycz & Derek Sale, playing on home turf, achieve a narrow victory over Mary Lockley & Mike Edwards in the final.

Prokopowycz, currently the Singles Champion at Quesada Bowls Club, and 2013 National Singles Runner Up, Sale, are also paired together in the Nationals which they will be hoping to assume from the current champions, club mates Bonsor and Pain, when their title assault gets underway at San Luis on Monday.
