Torrevieja PSOE Head Resigns
In a press conference on Wednesday, leader of he PSOE in Torrevieja, Ángel Sáez, has announced his resignation.
The PSOE failed to topple the PP government in Sunday’s election, only managing to gain 4 seats, despite the PP losing their overall majority they had held for the last two decades.
Ángel Sáez has resigned firstly because he admits that the results of the elections were not good. The socialist party lost 600 votes from 2011, and Ángel is taking responsibility for this loss. At the same time he asks why the PP party have not taken the same responsibility when they have lost 3000 votes.
Secondly. He has resigned to ensure that a pact is made between the 6 political parties to ensure that the future of Torrevieja is not another four years under a PP regime. When asked if his resignation was a condition of the pact, he neither confirmed or denied. His answer was ” its possible”.
Ángel ended saying that his intentions have been realised. After 27 years the PP have lost the majority and that is what is important on the whole.
