Parents of Child Aggressor Forced to Pay Compensation
The parents of a minor, of undisclosed age, have this week been condemned by the courts of Aragon to pay 662,100 euro to the victim of an assault.
The incident dates back to July, 2013, when the youth was identified as being part of a gang who assaulted the victim in a bar in Huesca.
The victim was hospitalised for 97 days, 30 of which were in an induced coma.
Although the facts were clear that it was a gang who assaulted the victim, this one youth was highlighted as being the main aggressor. The juvenile court already condemned the youth to pay a lesser amount, but it is the provincial court which has now increased the compensation that the parent must pay, as well as giving them just 10 days to do so before enforcement procedures are activated.
