CAMEO ROLE FOR MAYOR IN BENIDORM

Shane Ritchie won’t be the only new face that we’ll see when series 8 of the popular ITV Sitcom Benidorm hits our screens later in the year.

The 51-year-old, who has swapped the East End for Alicante, will be joined by the real life figure of PSOE Politician, Agustín Navarro, the current mayor of Benidorm, who has made a cameo appearance in the programme presenting the awards at a ceremony in the Melia Hotel.

Playing himself, the mayor was filmed presenting ‘The Pride of Benidorm Awards’ in which he handed over prizes to the fictional characters Tiger and Joey, played by actors Danny Walters and Nathan Bryon.
Filming for the series, comprising of seven 1 hour long episodes, began last March and will continue through to early July.

Following the ceremony the mayor took the opportunity for a ‘selfie’ along with Tiger and Joey played by actors Danny Walters and Nathan Bryon.
