SLIGHT INCREASE IN DRIVING ARRESTS

The Guardia Civil has reported that it arrested 252 drivers in May for crimes against road safety in the Region

Of those who found their vehicles impounded, 63 people were driving without insurance or a driving license; 187 were driving under the influence of alcohol and two were speeding excessively, over 170 kilometers per hour in 80km limits.

The total number of arrests represents an increase of 0.80 percent compared with to the same month last year.

By province; in the Valencia action was taken against 26 drivers for lack of insurance or a license and 108 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

In Castellon there were 6 arrests for driving without insurance or a license six and another18 who were driving under the influence of alcohol. In the province of Alicante, 31 drivers were found to be without insurance or a license, 61 for driving under the influence of alcohol and two for speeding.
