Hot Flight to Mexico
Passengers on board an aircraft at Madrid airport called the Guardia Civil to assist them after they had spent an hour and a half trapped on the plane due to a mechanical fault, in temperatures that the passengers say were in excess of 50 degrees.
The Wamos airlines flight to Cancun in Mexico was set to take off at 15:00 with 520 passengers on board. However, due to a fault the departure was delayed for over an hour with the passengers remaining on board.
The aircraft was then prevented from moving as the tow truck also suffered damage, resulting in the passengers still sitting on board, without information being given to them, prompting the call to the Guardia Civil.
The aircraft finally departed almost 5 hours late, with four passengers less than intended as they opted not to continue.
