Another Hot Tuesday Expected
The weather alert for high temperatures has been reissued, with parts of the Valencia region now on red alert as temperatures will exceed 40 degrees in places.
In Ontinyent and Gandia, temperatures my reach 41 degrees, whereas in Orihuela and Elche, the temperature is likely to reach 39 degrees.
For Tuesday, the southern coast of the Valencia province is on red alert for heat; the rest of the province is on orange alert. Both Castellón and Alicante are on yellow alert.
For the most part, it is the inland areas which will be the hottest, and the sky may be cloudy at times, with occasional showers in some places and the occasional afternoon storm, particularly in the central areas. A breeze will be felt for most of the day along the coast.
The advice is to remain indoors during the hottest part of the day, but if you do have to go out, walk in the shade, drink plenty of water, cover up with loose fitting clothing and a hat, and wear plenty of high factor sun cream.
