Record Breaking Airport Figures

Following on from serving over a million passengers in May, Alicante-Elche airport broke its June passenger record this year with 1,073,957 passengers using the facility, 3% more than the same period of last year.

The information was revealed this week in the latest figures from airport operator AENA, who also say that the UK is the top destination for passengers, with 473,274, followed by Germany and Norway.

For the first six-months of the year, Alicante saw 4,684,771 passengers, 3.6% more than last year.

Sadly, for its part, Murcia San Javier airport saw 454,085 passengers in the first six-months of the year, 2% less than in the same period of 2014. In addition, from January to June, there were 3,876 flights, 3.2% less than last year.
