In the latest campaign against speeding drivers, 34,075 vehicles were checked in the Valencia region and 2,244 drivers were reported for driving at speeds in excess of the maximum permitted limit.
Throughout the country, there were over half a million vehicles checked and 27,854 drivers caught speeding in the campaign which ran from the 20th to the 26th of July.
The focus was mostly on conventional roads, the location where the majority of speed related incidents and fatalities occur.
On conventional, main roads, more than 369,500 vehicles were checked and 18,899 drivers reported, whereas on motorways there were 211,843 vehicles checked and 8,988 drivers reported.
Andalusia was where the biggest number of complaints were recorded, with 6,516 drivers reported, whereas Valencia is in fifth place.
