The skeletal remains found by a leisure diver off the coast of Torrevieja on Sunday have been confirmed by the Guardia Civil as being of animal and not human origin.
Although the bones were found with items of clothing, including a pair of jeans and a belt, the scientific analysis has revealed that they are of animal origin.
Guardia Civil divers attended the scene and recovered three bags from under the water, one containing the bones, the others with other items such as the clothing.
