Torrevieja Agrees to Refugee Assistance
The Department of Equality in the Valencia Regional Government has agreed with the EU requirements to immediately agree on a calendar with all member states for the distribution and reception of Syrian refugees, and not delay the decision until November, The local governments of the five biggest cities in the region, Valencia, Alicante, Castellon, Elche
The Department of Equality in the Valencia Regional Government has agreed with the EU requirements to immediately agree on a calendar with all member states for the distribution and reception of Syrian refugees, and not delay the decision until November,
The local governments of the five biggest cities in the region, Valencia, Alicante, Castellon, Elche and Torrevieja, have collaborated in the decision and agreed to “improve the situation of people fleeing war and show solidarity, dignity, justice and humanity”.
The regional government are now exploring funding possibilities to enable outstanding loans be used to adapt public spaces, create shelters and housing and develop a task force to investigate areas such as health, education and social services.
