The recruitment campaign has been the biggest in the last five years with 32,479 candidates applying for the 820 posts. Of those who applied, 82% were men and 18% women. The candidates come from all backgrounds, including 25 with Doctorates, and 772 with a Masters Degree.

The recruitment process covers four phases, knowledge, physical ability, a medical examination and personal interview.

The successful applicants will join the academy in October to commence their year of training.
