After a bad harvest last year, there’s more optimism amongst local olive growers with predictions that this year’s harvest will be some 22 percent up on 2014. The expected return of 17 and a half thousand tons is still significantly down on what be regarded as a normal harvest level , with numbers still down by a third, as olive oil prices rises start to slow down.  Alicante Province is expected to produce just short of six thousand ton which is roughly the same as last year, with the northern part of the Valencia region showing the big rises.
