German Tourist Drowns of La Zenia
A German tourist died off the coast of Orihuela on Monday, whilst bathing on the beach of Cala del Bosque, in the La Zenia area. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, just days after the lifeguards were stood down following the official end to the summer season, and just after the European Championship Lifeguard competition

The man´s body was spotted floating in the sea near Cala Capitán as strong currents kept the body moving. In view of the sea conditions, a helicopter had to be called in to assist a Guardia Civil boat involved in the recovery operation.
