Customs officers and Murcia tax officials hit the jackpot last week in a major drugs raid on a boat that was docked in a Mar Menor harbour. Fourteen hundred kilos of cannabis resin was seized with a street value of around two point three million euros from a motorboat anchored at the Tomás Maestre port. Four Spaniards from Alicante, Murcia, and Madrid were arrested, with the drugs neatly packaged in 44 bundles. The operation was conveniently called Maestro, with the men facing smuggling and drugs charges in front of a San Javier judge.
