Fire fighters in the south west Galician town of Vigo saved the life of a cat which they rescued from a burning building.

The crews were called to attend a fire in the property by neighbours and came across the cat which had suffered smoke inhalation and was barely able to breathe.

The fire fighters gave the animal oxygen and revived it, suffering no other injuries.
The owner of the home was also treated for an anxiety attack.
