Rajoy Confirms Airport Rail Link for Alicante
During his visit to Orihuela on Friday, President of the Spanish Government, Mariano Rajoy, had to make the tragic announcement that a police officer had been killed in a terrorist attack on the Spanish embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan.
As a result of the attack, Rajoy suspended his Friday evening meeting in Murcia, where his election campaign was to continue.
Aside from the tragic news, Rajoy also announced a new “fair for all” financing package, in which nobody has “more than they are due and no less than they deserve”. That announcement was made affirming the central government´s commitment to work with the regional governments.
Rajoy also confirmed that Alicante-Elche airport will be one of the locations to be served by the ever increasing rail network, as the so-called “Mediterranean corridor” is “one of the most important infrastructures for convenience and for improving the competitiveness of the economy”.
The elections which may see Rajoy continue his dream, or lose his position of power, will be held on the 20th of December.
