Police Officer Injured in Orihuela Town Brawl
An officer from the National Police was hospitalised on Sunday, on account of injuries sustained whilst trying to intervene in a brawl at a bar in the Orihuela town of San Antón.
The officer suffered a broken leg, in the incident which occurred at around 19:00, as witnesses state that the aggressor became angrier by the presence of the police and began lashing out.
Two local police patrols attended to support their National colleagues, as well as an emergency ambulance.
The officer was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
San Antón has become a town known for an increase in violent behaviour, fights and drug trafficking, although the neighbours were shocked by the severity of this attack.
