Bank Robbers Steal Police Car
Two people carried out a bank robbery in Madrid on Monday afternoon, fleeing with the money in a police patrol car which had the keys left in the ignition.
Moments after they began their escape, the police vehicle was involved in a crash with another police patrol car resulting in one of the robbers being arrested.
The incident occurred at around 15:00 in the branch of Cajamar on Avenida de Pablo Neruda. The police were alerted to the incident and sent numerous patrols to attend, but the robbers had already fled in a National police car.
That vehicle then collided with a Madrid Municipal police car on Ramón Pérez de Ayala which initiated a shootout in which one of the robbers was shot in the leg and subsequently detained, whilst the other fled.
