Thousands Of Temporary Workers To Join Mercadona
The Mercadona supermarket chain has announced that it will be employing 5,000 extra staff to cover the busy summer season this year, a thousand more than in 2015.
The selection and recruitment process is already underway for their 1,584 stores across the country, where the new staff will join the existing 75,000 workers who benefit from earning at least 1,109 euro per month.
The company wants to promote itself as providing “excellent” service to the “millions” of tourists expected to visit the country this summer, and also benefit their full time staff quota by allowing holidays at one of the busiest times of year.
The company also believes that the measure “will help strengthen its expertise in the cities where Mercadona is present, placing value on the role of the tourism industry”.
