Three people involved in an Alicante scrap metal dealership have gone on trial, after being accused of receiving stolen goods. The National Police arrested the trio back in 2013, though the actual thieves have not been brought to justice in a case which is part of crackdown on dealers trying to peddle items that they know have been stolen.
Prosecutors have called for 15-month jail sentences on the charge of receiving stolen goods. The items concerned include a hundred manhole covers; 30 metal beer barrels; and 40 butano bottles. Two of the defendants have existing criminal records.
