A 49-year-old Spaniard pled guilty and accepted an 18-year jail sentence at his trial in Elche after stabbing his partner’s 10-year-old son to death in Torrevieja. The incident happened back in May 2015 in the Torrealmendros urbanisation at his girlfriend’s home.
The man, with the initials ABG, sobbed as the court heard what happened on the fateful evening after he got into an argument with his partner. She ran out of her home to call for help, but then matters turned worse. The man stabbed her son repeatedly with an 18-centimetre knife, with the Guardia Civil having to break into the home via a window, but the child died an hour after the assault.
The mother is set for compensation of nearly 53 thousand euros and 38 thousand euros to the child’s father.
