An eight-strong gang of watermelon rustlers operating in the Guadalentin Valley are accused of having pilfered four thousand kilos of the fruit. The Spaniards, aged between 16 and 84, live in the Murcia region and Alicante Province, with some of them according to the Guardia Civil, possessing a criminal record. They targeted farms that had poor fencing and security measures.
