Algorfa mayor, Manuel Ros, says that local residents are paying some of the highest property taxes in the Valencian region. Ros, from the PSOE party, claims that Algorfa home owners have to shell out 135 euros a year more than the average IBI figure in Valencia, as the council tries to slash the amount of debt that he claims it inherited from the previous Partido Popular administration in 2015.
