La Federación de Asociaciones de Orihuela Costa (FAOC) says that a road that goes over the AP-7 is not safe for pedestrians because it hasn’t got a pavement and suffers from poor lighting. The association claims that residents of the Lomas urbanisation at Cabo Roig are taking their life into their hands by walking along the Calle Cabo de Creus to the local health centre and other facilities, including the beach.
FAOC says that the speed of traffic is a danger, especially with lorries involved, as there are no designated crossings over the road, making it a risky business for pedestrians, especially if they are with a baby buggy. The association added that the Orihuela council passed a motion a year ago calling for improvements, but nothing has happened since.
