A Benidorm taxi driver was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning after hitting a drunken British passenger who refused to pay his fare. Tempers flared in a row over payment and the driver had enough as he decided to punch the intoxicated Brit, causing serious injuries that needed medical attention.
The driver drove off after the attack at around 4.15 am, and was eventually stopped after a police chase on Avenida l’Alquera, where he was arrested by the National Police. Witnesses say that the left back door of the cab was smeared with blood.
